Browser Extension

The Grove browser extension lets you tip creators directly on supported platforms — X, YouTube, Substack, and any website with an llms.txt file.

Prerequisite

Before using the extension, you must first sign in and deposit funds at grove.city.

The Grove extension works with any Chromium-based browser:

Installation​

Production Release​

Install from the Chrome Web Store.

Beta Release​

Get early access to new features by installing the beta version:

  1. Download the latest beta

  2. Unzip to a folder on your computer

  3. Go to chrome://extensions

  4. Enable Developer mode (top-right toggle)

  5. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder

  6. Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, then click the pin icon next to Grove to keep it visible

Updating the Beta​

Auto-updates: Beta installs check for new releases hourly. When an update is available, a red badge appears on the extension icon and a banner shows in the popup.

To update manually: Download the new zip, unzip it, then click the refresh icon on the Grove extension card at chrome://extensions.

Connecting Your Account​

Connect your Grove account to the extension:

  1. Go to your Grove dashboard
  2. Find your Grove Key and click Activate — this syncs the extension automatically
  3. If automatic activation doesn't work, copy your Grove Key and paste it into the extension manually

Your extension is now connected and ready to tip.

Using the Extension​

  1. Browse a supported platform
  2. Find a creator with a Grove profile
  3. Click the Grove extension
  4. Enter an amount and send your tip

Tips arrive in seconds.

Extension Features​

The extension provides access to:

  • Top Up — Add more funds to your tipping wallet
  • Balance — View your USDC tipping balance and earnings
  • History — View your tip and earning activity
  • Leaderboard — See top tippers and earners
  • Giveaways — Browse and enter active giveaways
  • Earn — View your tipping address and ENS name
  • Settings — Configure default tip amount, X integration, and chain selection

X (Twitter) Integration​

When tipping on X, the extension can optionally:

  • Auto-like the tweet you're tipping
  • Auto-reply with a customizable message (supports {username}, {chain}, {tx_link}, {grove_link} placeholders)

Configure these in the extension's Settings tab.

Multiple Accounts​

The extension supports multiple Grove Keys for switching between production, testnet, and local development accounts.
