How Your Funds Are Protected​

Grove uses two separate wallet systems to keep your money safe:

  • Tipping wallet — Where your deposited funds live. Secured by Coinbase. Used to send tips instantly without approving each transaction.
  • Earnings wallets — A two-part setup for funds you receive:
  • Smart Account (canonical sender): receives tips and sends withdrawals/offramp transfers.
  • Owner EOA (exportable key owner): the owner address behind your Smart Account.

Tipping Wallet​

Your tipping wallet is secured by Coinbase, one of the most trusted names in crypto. This setup enables:

  • Instant, gas-free tips
  • No transaction signing required for each tip
  • Simple deposits via USDC or USD

Your personal wallet keys are never stored by Grove.

Earnings Wallets (Smart Account + Owner EOA)​

Tips you receive are routed through your earnings setup:

  • Smart Account receives and sends funds.
  • Owner EOA can be exported and used as your self-custodial key destination.

You can withdraw your earnings to any crypto wallet on Base at any time.

Your Grove Key​

Your Grove Key connects your Grove account to the browser extension. Keep it private — anyone with your Grove Key can send tips from your funded wallet.
