  2. Sign up with your email, phone number, or wallet
  3. Complete verification if prompted

No crypto experience needed — Grove handles the technical stuff for you.

Step 2: Fund Your Tipping Wallet

Add funds so you can start sending tips:

  1. Go to grove.city/wallets
  2. Choose an amount between $1 and $500
  3. Deposit with USDC or USD (via card or bank transfer)
  4. Your tipping wallet is now funded
warning

Step 4: Activate Your Extension

Connect the browser extension to your Grove account:

  1. Go to grove.city/dashboard
  2. Find your Grove Key and click Activate — this connects the extension automatically
  3. If that doesn't work, copy your Grove Key and paste it into the extension manually

Step 5: Start Tipping

Now you can tip creators directly on supported platforms:

  1. Browse X, YouTube, Substack, or any website with an llms.txt file
  2. Find a creator with a Grove profile
  3. Click the Grove extension
  4. Choose a preset amount — $0.10, $0.50, $1, or $5 — or enter a custom amount
  5. Optionally add a personal message (see Messages below)
  6. Send your tip

Tips arrive in seconds.

Messages

When sending a tip, you can attach a short personal message to go with it. The creator sees your message alongside the tip in their activity feed — it's a great way to give feedback, say thanks, or start a conversation.

To add a message:

  1. Open the tip modal (via the extension or a creator's profile page)
  2. Enter your tip amount
  3. Type your message in the Message field
  4. Send — your message is delivered with the tip
note

Creators can choose whether to accept messages. If a creator has messages turned off, the message field won't appear.

After You Tip

Once your tip goes through, a success screen appears with a share card — you can post to X or other social platforms to let your followers know you tipped the creator.

Check Your Balance Anytime

Your tipping wallet balance is always visible in the header. Click the balance pill at the top of any page to open a quick drawer showing your current balance — no need to navigate to the Wallets page.

View Your Activity

Fees

Grove charges a 10% fee on tips. The fee is included in the transaction and may change in the future.

Example

If you tip $1.00, the creator receives $0.90 and Grove takes $0.10.
