Earn Tips

Want to receive tips from supporters? Claim your username, connect your social accounts, and start earning.

How It Works​

  1. Claim your username — Sign up and choose a unique handle. Your public profile goes live at grove.city/{handle}
  2. Connect your accounts — Add your social profiles so supporters can find you and tip your content
  3. Receive tips automatically — When someone tips you — on your profile page or via the browser extension — money goes directly to your earning wallet

Step 1: Sign Up & Claim Your Username​

  1. Go to grove.city
  2. Sign up with your email, phone number, or wallet
  3. Go to Settings and claim a unique handle

Your handle becomes your public profile URL: grove.city/{handle}

No crypto experience needed — Grove handles everything for you.

Step 2: Connect Your Social Accounts​

Link your social profiles so supporters can discover you:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Add links for any of the 16 supported platforms:
    • Bluesky, Discord, GitHub, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium, Reddit, SoundCloud, Substack, Telegram, TikTok, Twitch, Website, X (Twitter), YouTube
  3. Your social links appear on your public profile

Verify Your Accounts​

Verify ownership of your social accounts via OAuth to get a verified badge on your profile:

  • Bluesky, Discord, GitHub, Telegram, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube

Go to Settings → Profile and click Verify next to each linked account.

When someone views your content on a supported platform and has the Grove browser extension installed, they can tip you directly.

Step 3: Connect Earnings Wallets (Optional)​

By default, tips go to your Grove earnings setup (Smart Account + Owner EOA). If you'd like to connect your own wallet:

  1. Go to Settings → Wallets
  2. Connect a wallet on Base network (Solana coming soon)
  3. Tips now go directly to your connected wallet

You're Ready​

Supporters can tip you in two ways:

  • Your profile page — Anyone visiting grove.city/{handle} can tip you directly
  • Browser extension — When supporters browse your content on YouTube, X, GitHub, or other platforms, the Grove extension lets them tip without leaving the page

Tips arrive in seconds.

Receiving Messages from Supporters​

Supporters can attach a personal message when they tip you — a great way to get direct feedback, hear kind words, or start conversations with your audience.

You can control whether you receive messages in Settings → Messages:

  • Enable or disable incoming messages at any time
  • Messages appear alongside each tip in your activity feed

IRL Tipping with a QR Code​

Your public profile has a QR code button. Share it at live events, in videos, or on printed materials — supporters scan it and go straight to your tip page, no browser extension needed.

Grow Your Earnings​

  • Share your profile — Post your grove.city/{handle} link on your socials. Your profile shows a feed of content you've been tipped for, giving new visitors a quick sense of what you create
  • Use the QR code — Display it at events, on streams, or in your bio for IRL tipping
  • Refer friends — Earn 2% commission on tips your referrals receive. Learn more
  • Run giveaways — Create tip-funded giveaways to engage your audience. Learn more
